Hyderabad: The College Board has announced that registrations for Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) in May 2026 will be closed on April 17. Students will be allowed to make changes to their registration, cancel, or complete late registration until April 21. The test is scheduled for May 2.

The SAT continues to play an important role in helping students demonstrate academic readiness across a wide range of higher education systems. Scores are accepted by over 3,000 universities and colleges globally, including a growing number of institutions in India.

College Board South and Central Asia Senior Director & Regional Head Meenakshi Kachroo Chatta said a strong SAT score can help students strengthen their academic profile, stand out in competitive applicant pools, and, in many cases, improve access to scholarships and merit-based opportunities. “Approaching the process early can help students keep options open across institutions and countries, while navigating admissions with greater confidence and clarity.”

College Board continues to support student readiness through free, official SAT preparation on Khan Academy, free peer-to-peer tutoring through Schoolhouse. world, and full-length practice tests available on the Bluebook app.
