Hyderabad: Satavahana University College of Engineering, Karimnagar, will commence its operations from Government Polytechnic College, Husnabad, from the forthcoming academic year.

In a proceeding on Saturday, Technical Education Commissioner A Sridevasena directed the Government Polytechnic, Husnabad, principal to hand over the first floor on the polytechnic building on temporary basis for the academic year 2025-26 to Satavahana University for establishing college of engineering on a shift basis.

The order was issued as the Siddipet district collector requested the Technical Education department to accord permission to utilize the first floor of the polytechnic for commencing operations of the newly sanctioned university college at Husnabad.

Earlier, the State government sanctioned an engineering college and a law college to Satavahana University. While the University College of Engineering is being established at Husnabad, the University College of Law will come up on the Satavahana University campus.

The engineering college will offer four BTech programmes including Computer Science and Engineering, CSE (Artificial Intelligence) Information Technology, Electronics and Communications Engineering with an intake of 60 students in each programme.
