SATG begins consultations with sports associations to boost Telangana’s Khelo India Youth Games preparations
The Sports Authority of Telangana Government has begun consultations with state sports associations to finalise athlete selection and training plans ahead of the Khelo India Youth Games, focusing on systematic preparation, infrastructure and coaching support to improve the state's medal prospects.

Hyderabad: The Sports Authority of Telangana Government (SATG) has initiated a series of strategic consultations with state sports associations to strengthen athlete preparation and enhance the state’s medal prospects.
The meetings, chaired by Dr. A. Sonibala Devi, IFS, VC & MD of SATG, began with representatives from the athletics, cycling, archery, gymnastics, badminton and mallakhamb, gatka, kaliyaripattu associations to formulate a comprehensive roadmap for identifying and training Telangana’s most promising athletes.
The discussions focused on finalising a structured three-phase preparation programme comprising selection trials, the first level camp and the core camp.
Officials reviewed the timelines, duration of each phase and the sport-specific infrastructure, equipment and coaching support required to ensure athletes receive quality training well ahead of the Games.
Dr. A. Sonibala Devi said SATG was committed to identifying talented young athletes and providing them with systematic training so they could perform at their highest potential while representing Telangana on home soil.
The consultations form part of SATG’s broader strategy to develop a sport-wise preparation framework based on medal potential.
Further consultations with other state sports associations will be held in the coming weeks as preparations for the Khelo India Youth Games gather pace.
