SATS chief seeks big budget for sports
SATS chief said that Hyderabad has turned into the hub of Indian badminton and requested the CM KCR and Finance Minister Harish Rao to give special focus for sports
Hyderabad: Sports Authority of Telangana State (SATS) chief A Venkateshwar Reddy met finance minister T Harish Rao and requested to allot money for sports in the budget.
He said that the city of Hyderabad has turned into the hub of Indian badminton and requested the minister and Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao to give special focus for sports.
“There is a lot of talent in the State and athletes from rural backgrounds are winning medals for the country. Hyderabad is the hub of Indian badminton and there is a lot of talent in other disciplines as well. We need support to encourage athletes from poor backgrounds,” he said.
