Hyderabad: Sports Authority of Telangana State (SATS) chairman A Venkateshwar Reddy met Olympic bound-tennis stars Sania Mirza and Ankita Raina at the Sania Mirza Tennis Academy in Moinabad, on Sunday and wished her luck for the upcoming Olympics, scheduled to begin in Tokyo from July 23.

The SATS chief congratulated the former World No.1 Sania on playing her fourth Olympic Games. She, along with Ankita, will participate in the women’s doubles event and Venkateshwar Reddy expressed his confidence that the pair will return with a medal from the Games.


He also conveyed Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Reddy and Sports Minister V Srinivas Goud’s best wishes to the Hyderabadi tennis player. Sania and Ankita pair made the cut for the doubles event while Sumit Nagal managed to get the ticket to Tokyo on the final day of the qualification deadline recently.
