Dubai: The long, frustrating wait is coming to an end for stranded NRIs desperate to return to their jobs, join families in Saudi Arabia. There is a mood of joy and relief all around as Saudi Arabia announced that from next week restrictions on inbound travelers from India and other five counties would ease.
The new directive will come into force from Wednesday, December 1, 2021 that allows direct travel from India, Pakistan, Egypt are among six countries where travellers can come into Saudi Arabia without spending 14-day quarantine in a third country, according to state news agency SPA.
All those who come from these countries are required to spend five-days mandatory institutional quarantine regardless of their immunization status outside the Kingdom, the statement said. The news has brought widespread joy and relief to thousands of expatriates who have been stranded in these countries for over a period of a year.
