SBI donates Rs 50 lakh for rural science labs, AI learning in Vikarabad
SBI Chairman Challa Sreenivasulu Setty donated Rs 50 lakh worth of educational infrastructure, AI labs, and e-vehicles under CSR, supporting rural education and self-help groups across Telangana

Hyderabad: As part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, Challa Sreenivasulu Setty, Chairman of State Bank of India (SBI) donated educational infrastructure worth Rs 50 lakh, including computer, physics, chemistry, and biology labs, to strengthen rural learning and empowerment to Ekalavya Grameena Vikas Foundation (EGVF).
Speaking on the occasion, SBI Chairman emphasized that while the RBI mandates banks to allocate 1 percent of net profit to CSR, SBI has long been a leader in this space, initiating regular CSR activities well before such guidelines were introduced.
In addition to the lab equipment, Setty also announced the provision of two e-vehicles to support field training and community engagement, encouraging organic farming and rural entrepreneurship.
Saandeepani Gurukul in Gingurthy, Vikarabad, received support for setting up science labs and an AI-enabled computer lab to enhance hands-on learning and scientific exploration.
Sreedevi Surya, president, SBI Ladies Club, donated essential groceries, sewing machines, and domestic appliances to Self Help Groups from Medak and Vikarabad districts.
