SBI Foundation launches 3rd edition of Asha Scholarships to support underprivileged students

The CSR arm of SBI on Thursday announced the launch of 3rd edition of its flagship Asha Scholarship program, guaranteeing support to 10,000 meritorious students from underprivileged backgrounds from across the Country.

Hyderabad: The State Bank of India (SBI) Foundation, the CSR arm of SBI on Thursday announced the launch of 3rd edition of its flagship Asha Scholarship program, guaranteeing support to 10,000 meritorious students from underprivileged backgrounds from across the Country.

On the occasion, Chairman, State Bank Group, Challa Sreenivasulu Setty said “The scholarships embody SBI’s core value of Service beyond Banking”.


Students from Class 6 th to those pursuing PG can get benefits from Rs 15,000 to Rs. 20,00,000. Specialised categories are available for students in High school, pursuing UG and PG courses as well as for those currently enrolled in IITs and IIMs in India. The scholarship program under ‘Study Abroad’ category for SC and ST students will support those pursuing Masters and above from eminent institutions worldwide.

Students from Classes 6 to 12 who have scored more than 75 percent marks in the previous academic year and have an annual family income of less than Rs 3 lakh per annum are eligible to apply in this category.
