SCB approves Rs 35 crore for defence land linked to elevated corridors project
The Secunderabad Cantonment Board approved a corrigendum issued by the Ministry of Defence involving Rs 35.28 crore towards defence and cantonment land for elevated corridors on National Highway-44 and State Highway-01, with HMDA depositing the amount in an Escrow account.
Hyderabad: The Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) unanimously approved a corrigendum issued by the Ministry of Defence at a Board meeting held on Monday.
The SCB CEO Arvind Kumar Dwivedi placed the proposal as an agenda item at the meeting chaired by President, Cantonment Board (PCB), Brigadier S Rajeev.
Explaining the matter to the members, the SCB CEO said, “As per the working permission granted by the Ministry of Defence (MoD) on 01/03/2014 for the elevated corridors on National Highway-44 and State Highway-01, the value of the transfer of defence and cantonment land under ‘Equal Value Infrastructure’ (EVI), the total value was Rs 303,62,32,255 and the same amount was deposited by the HMDA in an Escrow account.”
Later, SCB noticed a variation in the land affected by the elevated corridors and again sent a proposal to the MoD seeking revised working permission with the variation or balance amount of Rs 338,90,36,790.
The MoD sanctioned working permission on 11/08/2026 and asked the HMDA to deposit the variation or balance amount of Rs 35,28,04,535. HMDA deposited it accordingly in an Escrow account maintained jointly by HMDA and SCB.
The Cantonment Board then approved it, passed a resolution and forwarded it to the MoD as per policy decision, SCB CEO Arvind Kumar Dwivedi told Telangana Today.
