Hyderabad: All India Cantonment Boards Association vice-president, Jampana Pratap on Friday urged Hyderabad in-charge minister Ponnam Prabhakar to ensure fair and legally admissible compensation for property owners affected by the proposed elevated corridor in Secunderabad Cantonment.
The elevated corridor is proposed on National Highway-44 from Paradise Circle to Dairy Farm, Suchitra.
The Minister visited Secunderabad Cantonment following an invitation from Cantonment MLA G Sri Ganesh, to raise voter awareness about the Graduate MLC elections. During the visit, Pratap met the Minister and submitted a representation on behalf of affected property owners.
He said the affected persons were ordinary residents, householders and small shopkeepers associated with the locality for several decades and that the state government must provide legally admissible benefits and protect them from avoidable hardship.
Pratap also demanded the sanction of Rs 1 crore for, or the construction of, three equivalent replacement buildings at government cost, along with compensation from the state government for the loss of Cantonment Playground buildings at New Bowenpally due to the corridor project.
