SCB elevated corridors: HMDA, LMA ink MoU for Defence land transfer
The MoU facilitates the takeover of A1 Defence land for construction of two elevated corridors in Secunderabad area; construction of compound wall and other assets of the Indian Army will commence shortly

Hyderabad: In a step towards building the elevated corridors in Secunderabad Cantonment, the Local Military Authority (LMA) has signed an MoU with the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), the agency responsible for constructing two elevated corridors, on Saturday.
The proposed elevated corridors are from Paradise Circle to Dairy Farm on National Highway-44 and from Gymkhana Grounds to Shamirpet ORR under SRDP on State Highway-1.
The MoU was signed in the presence of President Cantonment Board (PCB), who is also the Station Commander, Brigadier S Rajeev, on behalf of the Indian Army, and MA&UD Principal Secretary K Ilambarithi, on behalf of the State government.
The MoU is for the takeover of A1 Defence land of the Indian Army for the construction of two elevated corridors in the Secunderabad area, according to an official release issued by the HMDA.
The Ministry of Defence granted working permission for the construction of the elevated corridors on March 1, 2024. The MoU outlines the modalities, timelines, and methodology for the transfer of Defence land, construction of Indian Army assets, and security of vital installations during the construction of the elevated corridors, said the release.
With the signing of the MoU, the construction of the compound wall and other assets of the Indian Army will commence shortly by the HMDA. HMDA Metropolitan Commissioner Sarfaraz Ahmad, Brig K Somashankar, SM (Retd), Advisor, GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan, and GOC HQ TASA, Maj Gen Ajay Misra, also attended the MoU signing event.
