SCCL extends deadline for Civils support scheme till July 12
SCCL has extended the last date to apply under the Rajiv Gandhi Civils Abhaya Hastham scheme till July 12. Telangana candidates who cleared Civils Prelims can avail Rs 1 lakh assistance. Children of Singareni employees are also eligible
Peddapalli: The Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has extended the last date for submission of applications under the Rajiv Gandhi Civils Abhaya Hastham scheme till July 12.
In order to provide financial assistance to Telangana candidates who have cleared the Civils Prelims and are appearing for the Mains examination, SCCL is providing Rs 1 lakh under its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative.
Previously, the last date for submission of applications was July 7. However, in view of requests received from candidates, the deadline has now been extended to July 12, Chairman and Managing Director, SCCL, N Balram announced on Wednesday.
As per the directions of the State government, the deadline has been extended, he said, and urged candidates from Telangana who have cleared the Civils Prelims to make use of this opportunity and submit their applications online before July 12.
The CMD further informed that children of Singareni employees who have cleared the Civils Prelims would also be provided financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh each under this scheme.
Launched last year, 140 candidates had applied under the scheme, and SCCL provided financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh each to them.
Among these, 20 candidates also cleared the Mains and were selected for the interview stage. They too received an additional Rs 1 lakh each as encouragement.
In the same manner, SCCL has decided to provide financial assistance to candidates from Telangana under this scheme this year as well.
