Hyderabad: Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) Director (Operations) S Chandrashekhar on Tuesday requested the manufacturers to supply 600 tonnes of explosives continuously every day for overburden removal from mines. He gave these instructions to the representatives of eight private companies, which are supplying explosives, through a video conference from Kothagudem. On an average, only 475 tonnes of explosives were presently being supplied every day to SCCL and this would result in delay in meeting targets, he said.

Explosives were necessary to remove 14.8 lakh cubic metres of overburden every day to meet the target of 68 million tonnes fixed for the next three months, he said.

Since only 80 per cent of explosives were being supplied as per indent, the manufacturers should increase it to 100 per cent, he advised. He asked the Singareni area managers to chalk out plans to meet the fixed targets.

In response, the manufacturers assured that necessary steps would be taken to supply the stock as per indent.
