Hyderabad: Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has provided as many as 16,051 jobs after the formation of Telangana State.
Singareni was the first company to issue job notification after the formation of Telangana State. Of the 16,051 jobs, 12,553 were provided on compassionate grounds and dependent jobs to legal heirs of Singareni workers while 3,498 jobs were provided through direct recruitment.
These 3,498 jobs were provided by issuing 58 notifications. SCCL Chairman and Managing Director N Sridhar said the Singareni was not only at the forefront in coal production but also generating profits and providing jobs to the youth, he said.
With an intention of recruiting qualified persons, the SCCL was issuing job notifications regularly and recruiting the people. The recruitment was conducted through computer-based examinations without anyone’s interference.
These 16,051 jobs were provided in 35 categories including mining supervisors, fitters, electricians, mechanical supervisors, welders, moulders and specialist doctors among others in the SCCL. After the formation of Telangana, the SCCL was progressing on all fronts and following directions of the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, the management was filling up the vacant posts, Sridhar added.
