Hyderabad: Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) Director (Operations) S Chandrashekhar on Friday asked explosives manufacturers to supply 610 tonnes of explosives everyday to remove 14.8 lakh cubic meters of overburden (OB) daily to achieve 68 million tonnes of coal production in this financial year.
Following instructions from SCCL Chairman and Managing Director N Sridhar, Chandrashekhar and other officials conducted a video conference with the manufacturers. Since the next two months were crucial for coal production, the manufacturers should supply explosives without any delay.
From January 12 to 27, only 457 tonnes of explosives were supplied everyday resulting in problems to meet the target in removing OB. Since they were able to supply only 75 per cent of the indent, the manufacturers should supply explosives as per the Singareni’s requirement.
