SCCL to host Intercompany Athletics Meet in Telangana’s Kothagudem

Over 320 athletes, both men and women, to take part; 26 officials from Telangana State Athletic Association to ensure smooth conduct of the event

Kothagudem: Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) is going to host two-day CIL Intercompany Athletics Meet-2024-25 in Kothagudem.

Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, company general manager (Personnel), IR&PM, Kavitha Naidu said the event would take place at Prakasam Stadium on February 22 and 23. Teams representing coal mining companies; BCCL, CIL, CCL, CMPDI, ECL, NCL, SECL, MCL and WCL including SCCL would participate in the event.


As many as 320 athletes, both men and women, would be displaying their athletic skills while 26 qualified officials from Telangana State Athletic Association including a chief referee would ensure smooth conduct of the event, she said.

The works to prepare the ground and electrical installations have been taken up. Accommodation to women athletes would be provided at transit guest house and for officials’ accommodation would be provided at PVK guest house in Kothagudem area.

Transportation for outstation players would be provided from Khammam railway station. Food consisting of both southern and northern cuisines would be served to the players and officials. Medical facilities would be in place for the players.

Cultural programmes would be performed on February evening at CER Club. The SCCL CMD, N Balram Naik would attend the closing ceremony, Kavitha Naidu informed. DGM (Personnel) G Rajendra Prasad and others were present.
