Hyderabad: Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has decided to conduct a mega drive to administer vaccines to all the employees in two weeks.

SCCL Chairman and Managing Director N Sridhar gave instructions to directors and general managers to this effect at a review meeting through video conference. Sridhar said the vaccines must be administered to all employees without any age restrictions.

He said Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had given instructions to the State machinery to recognise Singareni employees as frontline warriors, who have been mining coal without any interruption to ensure that there is no shortage of power, and administer vaccines to them.

Sridhar asked officials concerned to make necessary arrangements to conduct the mega vaccination drive throughout Singareni from June 13. He said as many as 16,000 employees who are above 45 years of age, 14,000 families of the staff and 6,000 retired employees got vaccines.

Sridhar asked officials to make arrangements to complete the first dose of vaccine within two weeks for the remaining 29,000 employees and advised the area general managers to ensure that everyone follows Covid safety protocols and maintain physical distance while getting vaccines at the community centres in Singareni areas, dispensaries and hospitals.
