Hyderabad: In response to the rising power demands as summer approaches, the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) is gearing up for stepping up the daily coal production and ensure transportation of 2,60,000 tonnes to the thermal power stations. To facilitate this, CMD, N Balaram emphasized the need to remove a minimum of 1.7 million cubic meters of overburden daily, thereby increasing coal output.

During a special review on video conference from Singareni Bhavan, he addressed all area General Managers (GMs) and highlighted the need for ramping up production in a planned manner. The CMD directed that coal supply to Karnataka Power Corporation Limited be maintained at a minimum of 11 rakes per day to meet the growing demand.

He stressed the importance of coordinating with the Railway Division to ensure smooth coal transportation. He commended the Kothagudem area for its outstanding production achievements while urging other areas lagging behind their targets to improve their performance.

Balaram reiterated the importance of maintaining quality and safety in coal production. He insisted that only high-quality coal should be supplied to customers and emphasized the need for awareness among all workers about personal safety measures. He wanted the SCCL officials within each area to work responsibly, ensuring both quality and safety. (EOM)
