Kothagudem: Different SCCL trade unions strongly opposed the Central government’s decision to repeal 29 labour laws and introduce four labour codes.

TBGKS chief general secretary Kapu Krishna, AITUC pit secretary MRK Prasad, Kothagudem Area INTUC vice president Razak, CITU leader Srirammurthy, and other leaders staged a protest at Venkatesh Khani here on Tuesday against the labour codes.

Speaking on the occasion, they complained that the BJP government at the Centre was damaging the workers’ rights with the labour codes. They demanded that the Centre repeal the new codes and continue the previous 29 laws.

They alleged that the Centre turned a deaf ear to the labour Unions’ protests and strikes in the past against the introduction of the four labour codes. The Centre was working for corporate companies and capitalists.

TBGKS leader Krishna informed that memorandums would be submitted to the district Collectors in all SCCL areas on Wednesday at 11 am, and a protest with black badges would be staged at GM offices on the same day at 3.30 pm.

He appealed to the trade union activists, leaders, and workers of all the associations to participate in the protest programmes and make them successful. The protesting leaders burnt the copies of the new labour codes as a mark of protest.
