Kothagudem: Kothagudem Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Venkateshwara Babu distributed school bags to students of Government Primary School at New Gollagudem in the district on Thursday. He distributed bags to about 150 students at a programme organised under the aegis of Chetana Foundation founder Venigalla Ravi Kumar. The DSP said the services of the Chetana Foundation were appreciable and a model for all.
It was commendable to provide school bags, books and solar lights to students of government educational institutions and laptops to poor students for pursuing higher education, Venkateshwara Babu said.
The DSP said that he completed his education in government schools and colleges. Many of the officials who were in high offices now were educated in government schools, he noted and lauded the efforts being made by Chetana Foundation for strengthening government schools.
The school headmistress Sheikh Zarina, staff Charles Wesley, Mamata, VJAC Chairman Sathish Gundapuneni, members Ch Praveen, Kati Nageswara Rao, Chand Pasha and School Management Committee members were present.
