Mancherial: A correspondent of a private school drew flak for assaulting a parent when he questioned the management for not allowing his daughter to attend certain tests for failing to pay fees, here on Saturday.
Velpula Laxman, the father of Class V student Sahashra told pressmen that MIMS school correspondent Srinivas Raj assaulted him for objecting to the management when his daughter was not allowed to appear for an examination. He claimed that the assault was recorded in CCTV cameras installed in the school.
However, the correspondent denied allegations and stated that he had not beaten the parent. He stated that the parent created a nuisance for asking him to pay the fee arrears. He said that the management was collecting fees in a friendly manner. He added that certain persons were intentionally damaging the image of the schools.
In the meantime, student unions demanded criminal cases be booked against the management of the school for collecting hefty fees. They staged a sit-in in front of the school. They wanted the district education officer to take stringent action against the institution for fleecing the parents. They sought him to take steps to prevent higher fees by private recognised schools.
