School student drowns in swimming pool in Hyderabad

According to the police, Faizan Ansari while playing with his friends near the swimming pool, accidentally slipped and fell into it and drowned

Hyderabad: A 12-year-old student of a private school who was on a picnic accidentally drowned in the swimming pool of a resort at Shankarpally in Chevella on Thursday.

In the incident which was reported late, Faizan Ansari, a Class VI student of Madina Mission High School had gone along with 60 others students for a picnic to Wild Waters Resort at Parveda village on the city ourtskirts.

According to the police, Faizan Ansari while playing with his friends near the swimming pool, accidentally slipped and fell into it and drowned. His friends alerted their teachers and the resort staff, who rushed to the aid of Ansari and shifted him to a nearby private hospital, where the doctors declared him dead.

It was alleged that there was no supervisor from the resort staff or any teacher from the school present at the swimming pool at the time of the mishap.

Following a complaint, the Shankarpally police booked a case and are investigating.
