Kumram Bheem Asifabad: A government school teacher committed suicide by jumping into Savathula Gundam waterfalls when his father refused to purchase a car for him, on the outskirts of Venkatapur village in Asifabad mandal on Sunday. The incident came to light on Monday.
Asifabad Inspector Ashok said that the deceased Kotnaka Nagendrababu (26) was a native of Sungapur village in Kerameri mandal and was working as a teacher of the government school at Movad village in Asifabad mandal.
Tourists visiting the waterfalls found the body of Nagendrababu floating in the water and informed the police who fished it out and shifted to the district headquarters hospital for postmortem. The teacher left his house on Friday and suspected to have ended his life.
Nagendrabau was demanding Rs 1 lakh from his father Bheemarao who is a government teacher to buy a car for the past three months. He was disheartened when Bheemrao reportedly turned down his son’s request. It is learned that he was addicted to liquor and was always harassing his parents seeking fulfillment of wishes.
Based on a complaint received from Bheemrao, a case of suspicious death was registered and investigation has been taken up.
