Schools, colleges flooded; educational institutions to remain shut in rain-hit Medak on Aug 28

Following intense and unprecedented rainfall from Tuesday night through Wednesday, Medak Collector Rahul Raj declared a holiday for all educational institutions on Thursday. The decision came in light of an IMD forecast warning of continued heavy rain.

Medak: As rain wreaked havoc across Medak, the District Collector Rahul Raj declared a holiday for all educational institutions on Thursday in view of a heavy rain forecast by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Since the district witnessed unprecedented rains on Tuesday night until Wednesday late evening, the district administration announced the closure of schools and colleges. Notably, several schools, colleges, hostels and other educational institutions were flooded due to heavy rains in the district.
