Hyderabad: A woman ended her life after her husband allegedly scolded her an addiction to eating chalk at Ayodhya Nagar in Jeedimetla here on Monday.

Police said Sanju and her husband Raju Yadav, both natives of Bihar, were staying at Ayodhya Nagar in Jeedimetla here. While her husband was working for a private company in Jeedimetla industrial area, Sanju was a homemaker. Police said for years, Sanju Yadav had the habit of eating chalk which reportedly turned into an addiction recently.

Though her husband tried to dissuade her from the habit, she could not stop and the couple had frequent arguments over this issue. On Monday too, the couple allegedly had an argument over Sanju’s habit. After her husband left for work, she allegedly committed suicide by hanging in the house.

The Jeedimetla police have booked a case and are investigating.
