SCR announces 15 special festive trains for Christmas and New Year

SCR will operate 15 special train services between December 25 and January 5 to handle Christmas and New Year rush. The services connect routes including Charlapalli, Narsapur, Yelahanka, Hyderabad and Kakinada, with all trains running overnight for passenger convenience

Hyderabad: To handle the festive rush during Christmas and New Year, the South Central Railway (SCR) has announced special trains connecting select key destinations.

SCR authorities said a total of 15 special services will operate between December 25, 2025 and January 5, 2026, ensuring additional connectivity for passengers during the holiday season.

Accordingly, Charlapalli–Narsapur (07144) will run on December 25 and Narsapur–Charlapalli (07145) will run on December 26. Charlapalli–Yelahanka (07159) will run on December 24 and 29, and Yelahanka–Charlapalli (07160) will run on December 25 and 30.

Similarly, Kakinada–Charlapalli (07155) will run on December 25 and Charlapalli–Kakinada (07156) will run on December 26. Hyderabad–Kakinada (07157) will run on December 26 and Kakinada–Hyderabad (07158) will run on December 27.

Likewise, Hyderabad–Narsapur (07163) will run on December 28 and Narsapur–Hyderabad (07164) will run on December 29. Additional Charlapalli–Kakinada Town services will run on January 4 and 5, 2026.

All trains will run with overnight timings to ensure convenient travel for long-distance passengers.

The railways have advised travellers to book early as heavy demand is anticipated during the festive period.
