Hyderabad: To ease passenger congestion during the Sankranthi festival season, South Central Railway (SCR) has announced temporary stoppage of select express trains at Charlapalli station.
The special arrangement will be in place for 14 days, from January 7 to January 20, 2026, to help manage the festive rush and reduce crowding at Secunderabad station.
As part of this measure, 11 trains passing through the Hyderabad suburban section will halt briefly at Charlapalli, providing added boarding and deboarding convenience for passengers from the eastern parts of the city.
The trains include services between Gudur, Kakinada, Visakhapatnam, Tirupati, Bhubaneswar, Hyderabad, Lingampalli and Secunderabad, operating on daily, tri-weekly and selected-day schedules.
Railway officials said the temporary stoppages are aimed at ensuring smoother passenger movement during the festive travel surge and advised commuters to check train timings in advance. Passengers have been requested to make use of Charlapalli station to avoid congestion at major terminals.
