Hyderabad: To meet the medical oxygen requirements of Telangana during the second wave of pandemic, the South Central Railways (SCR) has operated a total of 33 Oxygen Express trains, bringing in 3,052 MT of Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) in 163 tankers.
While 1,885 MT of LMO (104 tankers) was supplied from Odisha, 680 MT (34 tankers) from Jharkhand, 282 MT (14 tankers) from Chhattisgarh and 205 MT (11 tankers) from Gujarat were supplied to Telangana. In order to fulfill the oxygen requirement fastest possible, Indian Railways have been operating these trains along the Green Corridors to ensure minimum transportation time.
Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, SCR, complimented the officers and staff who have contributed towards delivering the medical oxygen to the state. He advised the team to continue same level of monitoring so as to provide hassle-free and seamless operation of these trains.
