SCR detects over 600 littering, spitting cases during special cleanliness drive

The Secunderabad Division of South Central Railway detected 606 cases of littering and spitting during a 20-day cleanliness drive conducted at major railway stations and onboard trains, penalising offenders under the Railways Act to promote hygiene and responsible passenger behaviour.

Hyderabad: The Secunderabad Division of South Central Railway (SCR) detected 606 cases of littering and spitting during a 20-day special anti-littering drive conducted across major railway stations and onboard trains between July 17 and August 5.

Offenders were penalised under the relevant provisions of the Railways Act as part of the campaign aimed at promoting cleanliness and improving hygiene at railway stations and in trains.
The drive was carried out by ticket checking staff and commercial department officials at Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Begumpet, Lingampalli, Charlapalli, Kazipet, Warangal and Khammam railway stations.
