Hyderabad: The first doses of the Covid vaccine were administered to the South Central Railway (SCR) frontline medical staff at Central Railway Hospital, Lallaguda, on Monday in the presence of General Manager, SCR, Gajanan Mallya. The first vaccine shots were given to healthcare staff such as doctors, nurses, and housekeeping staff.
During the Covid pandemic, the frontline healthcare staff of the SCR zone rendered yeomen service, putting their physical, mental and social well-being at risk. Due to their dedicated service, the healthcare workers of the SCR zone were the first to be administered with the vaccine.
The SCR zonal hospital has received 593 doses of Covid vaccine, which will be administered to all healthcare staff belonging to the health units of Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Chilkalguda, Kacheguda and Moula-Ali over a period of six days. The healthcare staff who will be vaccinated in the first phase include doctors, nursing staff, lab technicians, pharmacists and housekeeping.
Speaking on the occasion, General Manager, SCR, Gajanan Mallya lauded the services delivered by the medical personnel during the pandemic. Later, the General Manager conducted an extensive inspection of the Central Hospital, Lallaguda and interacted with the patients and enquired about the services provided by the Railway Hospital.
