SCR records highest-ever ticket checking revenue of Rs 223.60 crore
South Central Railway recorded its highest-ever ticket checking revenue of ₹223.60 crore in 2025–26, surpassing targets ahead of schedule. Officials attributed the growth to strict enforcement, digital ticketing initiatives and increased passenger compliance.

Hyderabad: The South Central Railway (SCR) has recorded its highest ever ticket checking revenue of Rs 223.60 crore during the financial year 2025-26.
SCR officials said the zone had crossed its target of Rs 221.08 crore 14 days before the end of the financial year, marking a new benchmark. The latest figures also surpass the previous record of Rs 220.81 crore achieved in 2023-24. SCR also reported a record single day collection of Rs 1.85 crore on October 18, 2025.
The revenue was generated through penalties collected from ticketless travel, irregular journeys, and un-booked luggage cases. Apart from booking window, several digital initiatives for issuing of tickets have been introduced in the ticketing system to enhance passenger convenience and boost ticket sales.
The digital initiatives include the Rail One App, ATVMs near booking counters, and the display of QR codes at stations. These initiatives, combined with the relentless efforts of ticket checking staff, have significantly improved ticket sales leading to increased passenger revenue, a press release said.
SCR General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava appreciating the staff stated that strict ticket checking not only curbs violations but also promotes responsible travel and boosts passenger revenue.
