SCR RPF rescues 92 children under ‘Nanhe Farishte’ operation in February

The SCR Railway Protection Force rescued 92 children, recovered stolen property worth Rs 17.97 lakh, seized ganja and liquor, and cracked down on ticket touts and railway thefts in February through multiple operations, ensuring passenger safety and asset protection.

Hyderabad: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of South Central Railway (SCR) rescued 92 children who were found lost or separated from their families during the month of February, as part of its operation ‘Nanhe Farishte’.

According to railway officials, the rescued children, including 73 boys and 19 girls, were identified at railway stations and trains across the SCR zone and were handed over to the Child Welfare Committees for care and protection.


During the same period, under Operation Yatri Suraksha, RPF arrested 43 offenders and recovered stolen passenger property worth Rs 17.97 lakh in 38 cases. Through Operation Amanat, personnel traced and returned 294 lost belongings of passengers valued at Rs 85.21 lakh.

In its drive against narcotics smuggling, Operation Narcos led to the seizure of ganja worth Rs 72.37 lakh and the arrest of 20 persons. Under Operation Satark, liquor worth Rs 1.56 lakh being transported illegally through trains was seized, with cases registered by the Excise Department.

Meanwhile, ‘Operation Uplabdh’ resulted in 14 cases against ticket touts with the arrest of 15 persons and seizure of 53 railway tickets worth Rs 95,129. Under Operation Rail Suraksha, RPF solved 52 cases involving theft of railway property and recovered materials valued at Rs 6.77 lakh.
