Hyderabad: In response to the report “Arts College Railway Station subway unsafe,” which highlighted the displacement of pavement slabs and unsafe conditions for pedestrians, published in these columns on August 25, the South Central Railway (SCR) on Tuesday said the grievance has been resolved.

The SCR in a statement said the location is at Railway Under Bridge No 6 between Sitafalmandi and Arts College Railway Station, and that the civil works including road repairs at the location come under the jurisdiction of the State government.

The pavement blocks were moved by GHMC officials during recent heavy rains in the area to drain out storm water that had accumulated in the underpass to ensure safe passage for road traffic.

However, the issue has now been resolved and the works attended to by the GHMC, the SCR added.
