Mancherial: Members of the Telangana Union of Working Journalists requested Government Whip Balka Suman to take up a special vaccination drive for journalists. They submitted a written request to Suman here on Monday.
Led by TUWJ’s ad hoc committee co-convener Renikuntla Srinivas, journalists Ravi Naik, V Satyanarayana, Gattu Srinivas, video journalists Ramancha Srinivas, Ramesh, Satheesh and photojournalist Varshini Srinivas said that the scribes were discharging duties risking their lives. They urged Suman to take steps for conducting a special vaccine drive for journalists.
Suman assured he would speak to the officials concerned to arrange vaccines for journalists. He stated that he would distribute groceries to around 400 journalists of the district through his Balka Foundation soon. He advised them to bring their challenges to his notice if any. He promised he would help them in providing treatment to those scribes who were infected by the virus in private hospitals.
