Hyderabad: After completing the scrutiny of nominations, the Election Commission of India accepted the nominations of 81 candidates for the Jubilee Hills bye-election. The accepted list was officially released by the Returning Officer of the Jubilee Hills bye-election, P Sairam, here on Thursday.
Out of 321 nominations filed by 211 candidates, 135 were found valid, and finally, 81 nominations were accepted. The nominations filed by major parties, including BRS candidate Maganti Sunitha, Congress candidate V Naveen Yadav, and BJP candidate Lankala Deepak Reddy, were accepted. Apart from candidates of recognised and registered parties, 51 independent candidates are also in the fray.
The last date for withdrawal of nominations is October 24.
