Season’s first mango special train leaves from Vizianagaram

Visakhapatnam: The Waltair Division of East Coast Railway, in its efforts to ensure uninterrupted supply of essential commodities, Waltair Division of East Coast Railway is running parcel special express trains from Vizianagaram, the nodal point for transport of mangoes from north Andhra Pradesh to Adarsh Nagar, New Delhi for transport of Mangoes.
The First Mango special train of this season left on Wednesday, carrying 200 tons of Mangoes in 11,600 boxes to New Adarshnagar railway station at New Delhi, according to Senior Divisional Commercial Manager A.K.Tripathi. During the last financial year, Waltair Division transported 4350 tons of Mangoes in 20 Mango parcel special trains, he said.
“Taking into consideration the requirement by the mango traders, Waltair Division will run special parcel train services. Despite the pandemic situation, Waltair Division is making all efforts to continue the supply chain of essential commodities,” he stated.
