Seating capacity on Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam Vande Bharat increased

The train, which has 16 coaches with 1,128 passenger capacity, is now enhanced to 20 coaches to accommodate 1,414 passengers

Hyderabad: More passengers will now be able to travel in the Vande Bharat Express connecting Secunderabad and Visakhapatnam.

Starting January 11, the Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam Vande Bharat Express will run with enhanced passenger carrying capacity.

The train which has 16 coaches with 1,128 passenger capacity is now enhanced to 20 coaches with 1,414 passengers.

Since its introduction on January 15, 2023, the train has been operating with more than 130 per cent patronage consistently, the South Central Railway (SCR) said.

Taking into consideration the increased demand, the Railways has decided to augment the existing train rake with four additional coaches.

Accordingly, the train will operate with 20 coaches instead of the current 16 coaches and will have 18 chair cars with 1,336 passenger capacity and two executive class coaches with 104 passenger capacity.
