SATG officials addressing the preparatory meeting of the CM Cup in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: Telangana Sports Authority chairman Shivasena Reddy stated that the second phase of the CM Cup–2025 competitions will be organised with the objective of identifying rural sports talent and encouraging athletes.
Shivasena Reddy, speaking at a preparatory meeting held today with district youth and sports development officers, informed that Torch Relay (Kreeda Jyothi) programmes will be conducted at district headquarters on January 8, 9, 10, and 11, depending on the convenience of each district.
He announced that village-level competitions will begin from January 17, and that this time, competitions will be conducted not only at the village, mandal, and district levels, but also for the first time at the Assembly constituency level.
“Necessary arrangements are being made to conduct competitions in a total of 44 sports disciplines,” the SATG chairman said.
He also clarified that this time the CM Cup state-level competitions will not be limited only to Hyderabad city, but will be expanded to include combined district headquarters and a few other districts as well.
SATG Managing Director Dr Soni Baladevi advised that athletes’ information should be collected online and that programmes should be organised under the supervision of district collectors with coordination among officials from various district departments.
She also stated that the CM Cup competitions should be made successful with the support of PETs, physical directors, various sports associations, and voluntary organisations.
Deputy Directors Chandrareddy, Ravinder, Dr Raviteja, SM Bhasha, Anita, Sujatha, Padmavathi, School Games Federation Secretary Usharani, and others participated in the meeting.
