Second warning issued as Godavari touches 48 feet mark at Bhadrachalam
The Godavari River at Bhadrachalam rose to 48 feet on Sunday, prompting a second flood warning. Authorities are discharging 11.44 lakh cusecs of water and have urged residents in affected villages to stay alert and avoid bathing or boat trips.

Kothagudem: Officials have issued the second warning with the water level in river Godavari at Bhadrachalam reaching 48 feet at 9 am on Sunday.
District Collector Jitesh V Patil said that 11.44 lakh cusecs of water was currently being discharged downstream. As there was a possibility of further rise, people in flood affected villages should be alert. Authorities have already taken relief measures and were ready to set up more relief centres if necessary, he said.
All departments concerned were directed to ensure that all basic facilities like drinking water, food, medical services and power supply were available for the people. Public should not go for bathing in Godavari under any circumstances and boat trips were completely prohibited, he said.
