Second-year architecture student ends life at Woxsen University hostel in Sangareddy
Rushikesh, a 19-year-old architecture student from Hyderabad, was found dead in his hostel room at Woxsen University in Sangareddy on Monday. Munipally police have registered a case and are probing the circumstances behind the suicide by speaking to his acquaintances.
Sangareddy: A 19-year-old second-year architecture student died by suicide on Monday by hanging himself in his hostel room on the campus of Woxsen University here.
Rushikesh was a resident of Saroor Nagar in Hyderabad. The incident occurred on Monday morning and came to light when hostel staff found him unresponsive in his room.
Munipally police recovered his mobile phone from the room and are examining it as part of the investigation. Efforts are underway to ascertain the reason behind the suicide, with police speaking to his classmates, hostel mates and family members.
A case has been registered, and further investigation is in progress.
In a statement, Woxsen University authorities said they were ‘deeply saddened by the untimely passing’ of Gunna Rushikesh Reddy, on campus.
“Our heartfelt condolences are with his family, friends, and classmates during this profoundly difficult time. Woxsen University is extending full support to the family and is cooperating closely with the authorities in their ongoing investigation.
We respectfully urge everyone to allow much needed privacy to the family in this difficult time and refrain from speculation as we await further details from the local police authorities,” the statement said.
