Secunderabad woman held for aiding cyber fraud in five cases

Cybercrime police in Malkajgiri arrested a woman from Secunderabad for allegedly providing her bank account to cyber fraudsters. The account was used in five fraud cases, including one where a victim lost ₹90 lakh, police said.

Hyderabad: The cybercrime police of Malkajgiri commissionerate arrested a woman for allegedly facilitating the cyber fraudsters by supplying bank accounts.

According to the police, the arrested woman, Kola Manjula, a resident of Secunderabad, had provided a bank account to a cyber fraudster. The account was used to get funds from a victim of digital fraud. Manjula, in turn, received a commission from the fraudsters. The account maintained by Manjula was used by fraudsters in five cases in the State.


Based on a complaint by the victim who lost Rs 90 lakh, the cybercrime police had registered a case and, after identifying the account, traced and arrested Manjula.
