Kothagudem: A civic action programme was organised in the naxal affected Sukma district in Chhattisgarh under the aegis of CoBRA 208 battalion and CRPF 212 battalion on Saturday. The programme was held at Palodi camp under Kistaram police station limits, said a release from the security forces. A medical officer Dr. Rajesh P and staff conducted medical checkups and treated the local Adivasis at a health camp. Medicines were distributed free of cost to the locals.
A large number of Adivasis from Kasaram, Palodi, Amampet, Potakpalli and other villages attended the medical camp. Similarly, stationery, school bags, water bottles, chocolates were distributed among students and children. College-going students were given t-shirts, pants and backpacks while women were given sarees and blankets were distributed to elders. It was planned to distribute vegetable seeds, flower plants and solar lights soon to the villagers.
CoBRA 208 Deputy Commandant Amith Kumar explained about the government welfare schemes being implemented for the benefit of the villagers. CoBRA Assistant Commandants Preven Kumar and Vishal Binar and CRPF Assistant Commandant Devendra Kumar were present.
