Seed certification officers seek merger of their agency with agriculture department

Hyderabad: The Telangana Seed Certification Officers Association which met here on Sunday demanded the state government to accord departmental status to the State Seed Certification agency by integrating it with A proposal to grant departmental status to the Seed Certification Agency and integrate it into the Agriculture Department.
The Telangana Employees JAC Chairman, V. Laxmi Reddy, who addressed the meeting, emphasized the crucial role of Seed Certification Officers in providing quality seeds to farmers and assured that the demands would be taken up with the Chief Minister.
Among other things, the association sought an increase in the minimum pension to Rs 30,000 besides salary increase for the outsourced employees by considering them as contract employees.
