Hyderabad: TRS working president and Minister KT Rama Rao on Wednesday asked the party cadre to gear up for the protests scheduled to be staged in all Assembly constituency headquarters on November 12, against the Centre’s discrimination towards the State in paddy procurement.
With the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) coming into force in the State ahead of the MLC elections, the TRS working president asked the party cadre to obtain prior permissions from the respective district authorities for holding the proposed protests. The MLC elections to 12 seats are scheduled to be held on December 10.
Earlier, TRS President and Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao gave a clarion call to the party cadre as well as farmers to join the protests exposing the double-standards of the Centre. Though the Union government is purchasing the entire paddy yield produced in Punjab, it has refused to extend similar facility to Telangana.
