Mulugu: Women and Child Welfare Minister Danasari Anasuya Seethakka expressed doubts over the veracity of a recent letter allegedly released by Maoists, which questioned her silence regarding violation of Adivasi rights.
Speaking to the media at Eturunagaram in the district on Friday, she said that it was not clear whether the letter was genuinely released by the Maoist party. She alleged that some media organisations and political parties were spreading false propaganda and making baseless comments against her.
It might be recalled that on June 26 CPI (Maoist) party spokesperson Jagan condemned the attacks on Adivasis in Mulugu. He said it was shameful that such an incident occurred in the native district of the Minister Seethakka and demanded the State government to cancel the GO 49 that was meant to vacate Adivasis in Komaram Bheem district.
The minister recalled that she had opposed GO 49, stating that it would harm Adivasis. As soon as incidents of attack on Adivasis in Mulugu and Kothagudem came to her attention, she said she spoke to Minister Konda Surekha and forest officials to prevent such incidents from happening in the future, she added.
