Sekhar Kammula happy with response to ‘Saranga Dariya’
The song's lyric video released on social media has racked up over 100 million views so far
Sekhar Kammula was waiting for the right opportunity to incorporate the song Saranga Dariya when he first heard it on television a few years ago. “I thought I should put it in one of my future film projects.
Love Story has fulfilled it. ‘Vachinde’ from Fidaa was a massive hit when the video version was released. But ‘Saranga Dariya’ is now a much bigger hit just with the release of the lyrical video on YouTube. It has certainly raised the expectations of audiences. Everyone in the team is excited to watch the full song, all credit goes to writer Suddala Ashok Teja who gave a new dimension to the folk song of Telangana,” the director shared.
Sung by Mangli and written by Suddala Ashok Teja, the song has been composed by Pawan Ch. Saranga Dariya clocked a whopping 100 million views in just 32 days to make a record of sorts for the first ever lyrical song in south India to register 100 million mark in a very short time. The Sai Pallavi and Naga Chaitanya-starrer is set to release in theatres worldwide on April 16.
