Nizamabad: With a spurt in number of Covid cases, Dharpally Gram Panchayat and Village Development Committee (VDC) has imposed full-fledged lockdown at Dharpally Mandal headquarters of Nizamabad district. Villagers closed business establishments, and were not allowing anyone into the village.

Recently, six persons died due to Covid-19 at Dubbaka village of Dharpally mandala, apart from a huge number of positive cases registered at Dharpally mandal headquarters and surrounding villages, prompting villagers to opt for a total lockdown.

The villagers are closed down the weekly shandy held on Sundays amid the Covid threat. Only medical shops were being allowed to be kept open.
