Nalgonda: A self-proclaimed godman landed behind the bars here, after a woman complained to the police that she was cheated of Rs 30 lakh. Police investigations have also revealed that the godman had sexually exploited several women in the guise of granting them godly powers. Police have also seized Rs 20 lakh in cash, 500 grams of gold and fixed deposits worth R 1.5 crore and documents pertaining to 17 acres of land from his possession.
The arrested godman was identified as Ambadipudi Sai Vishwa Chaithanya alias Vishwanadha Murali (50), of New Nallakunta in Hyderabad and his three associates Gajula goutham (26) of Narayanapuram village of Kalyandurgam mandal, Ananthapur district in Andhra Pradesh state, Vangaru Srujan Kumar (28), of Sri city venture at Barugudem in Khammam and Orsu vijay (25), of Akuthotapally village of Amanagallu mandal in Mahabubnagar.
Presenting the arrested at a media conference, district SP A V ranganath said that police began investigations into activities Ambadipudi Sai Vishwa Chaithanya after a woman complained to them. Vishwanadha Murali, had earlier ran a computer training centre at Nallakunta in Hyderabad and took up the Baba avatar after incurring losses. He set up Sai Maansi Charitable Trust at Azmapur village of PA Pally mandal in the district. In the name of yagams, raksha kavach yantrams, surya rudraksha malas, he allegedly collected huge amounts from the gullible people saying that the pooja items would have special powers.
He also set up a YouTube channel in the name of Sri Sai Sarvasvam to upload his devotional speeches.
