Senior advocate from Telangana HC appointed as judicial member of GST appellate tribunal

Hyderabad: Bhaskar Reddy Vemireddy, senior advocate at the Telangana High Court, has been appointed as a Judicial Member of the Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal (GSTAT).
This appointment by the Government of India is part of a broader move to make the GST Appellate Tribunal fully operational. A total of 53 judicial members have been approved for appointment, marking a significant milestone in strengthening the dispute resolution framework under the GST regime, a press release said.
Vemireddy Bhaskar Reddy, enrolled as an advocate in 1987, is a designated senior advocate at the Telangana High Court. He specialises in tax laws and has been practising before the High Court at Hyderabad since 1987.
He was appointed as Special Assistant Government Pleader for taxes before the High Court in 1993 and worked in that position till June 1994. He was designated as a senior advocate in 2022.
