Senior CPI leader Kilaru Prasad joins BRS in Kothagudem

A large group of CPI cadres, led by senior leader Kilaru Prasad, joined the BRS in Kothagudem on Wednesday, marking a setback for the CPI in the constituency. The induction, overseen by MP Vaddiraju Ravichandra, was preceded by a motorcycle rally.

Kothagudem: The Communist Party of India (CPI) suffered a jolt in Kothagudem Assembly constituency as a large number of cadres from the party joined the BRS here on Wednesday.

Led by senior CPI leader Kilaru Prasad of Sujatha Nagar, nearly one hundred party workers from the 11th division (Old Kothagudem) of Kothagudem Municipal Corporation joined the BRS. It might be noted that the constituency is being represented by MLA Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao

They were inducted into the party by the BRS Parliamentary party leader, MP Vaddiraju Ravichandra at Telangana Bhavan, the party district headquarters. The MP noted that the public has grown weary of an undemocratic regime led by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.

He emphasised that people across Telangana have longed for the former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s governance. It was this trust that has driven the people of the Kothagudem constituency to place their faith in the BRS party.

MP Ravichandra extended his best wishes to Prasad and his followers upon their entry into the party. Prior to the induction ceremony, Prasad led a massive rally of 100 motorcycles from Old Kothagudem to Telangana Bhavan.

Those who joined the party include Charla Veeraiah, Padala Bhaskar, Mekala Venkanna, Goud Venkanna, Nagendra, Ashok, Naresh, Sandeep, Rakesh, Nagaraju, Ashwatthama, Sanjay Bhargav, RTC Raju, Vamsi and others.

Former municipal vice-chairman Damodar Yadav, senior leaders Bhima Sridhar and Mekala Nagababu; corporators Bathula Madhu Chand, Mallela Ravichandra, Guna Charith, M Mahesh, and others were present.
